The reality of the situation, be it Christianity, Islam, Atheism, vegitarianism, Monday night football, gambling or whatever it is people worship…it’s almost always a simple and peaceful idea that is skewed and destroyed by the individual to fit their own greedy wants.

As a Christian, it’s refreshing to see that poster earlier quote “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The new testament is very clear…hate the sin not the sinner. Not once do we see Jesus Christ “hanging or beheading” anyone. War and oppression is not at all what the Bible teaches, yet many who claim to be Christians have been responsible for the death and torture of millions throughout history. These people are not really Christians, as they are doing things completely contrary to what defines a Christian…the Bible.

One of my favorite quotes is from Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club. “Sticking feathers in your butt does not make you a chicken.” Look back in history at all of the people who have been responsible for the great religious wars throughout history. I can’t speak for other religions as I’m not an expert, but I can tell you this…not one of the “Christians” who were responsible were actually Christians at all. They were selfish monsters who claimed to be so. Don’t be ignorant. Don’t paint with a wide brush. Any Christian you have ever met who is a total prick, who looks down on you and judges you because you’re not like them…that person is not a Christian in any way. He’s an asshole. Real Christians strive not to be like that…and sadly, real Christians are not all that common these days.
